October is See Us, Support Us month, a month-long campaign to champion the needs, experiences, and resiliency of children with incarcerated parents and encourage states, agencies, and organizations to adopt the Children of Incarcerated Parents Bill of Rights. Location: Empire State Plaza Meeting Room 1, Albany, New York
The Council on Children and Families, Albany Police Department, NYS Office of Children and Family Services, and the Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood are hosting an event highlighting policies and practices for supporting the parent-child relationship through incarceration. Assemblymember Didi Barrett will deliver opening remarks, and Assemblymember Carmen DelaRosa will also speak. RSVP here.

See Us, Support Us Closing Event: From Little Ones to Leaders: What We Can All Do to Nurture the Potential of Children with Incarcerated Parents. Learn about the unique needs of young children of incarcerated parents, strategies for supporting parents and caregivers, and innovative initiatives- including through film, books, and journalism- to increase supports for all children affected by parental incarceration.
