Family Ties

Osborne offers services that support the bonds between incarcerated women and their children, and efforts of women in prisons and jails to be the mothers they wish to be. At Albion prison, more than 350 miles from NYC, Osborne offers parenting education, video-visiting, and support for the mother-child bond. Program graduations are marked by visits from participants’ children, whom Osborne staff and volunteers escort by plane for an overnight hotel stay and a day in their mothers’ company.

For women in NYC jails, Osborne offers video visiting and in-person visiting support, parenting education, and other therapeutic and discharge planning services.

Family Ties extends into the community, where we offer reentry support, referrals to housing and other services, programs for children, and groups in which mothers can connect with and support each other.
