Jonathan Monsalve became Osborne’s Interim President and CEO in February 2024, after joining Osborne as Chief Strategy Officer the previous June. With over 15 years of experience fighting the injustices of the criminal legal system, Jon most recently served as the Executive Director of the Immigrant Defense Project, a national nonprofit that works to resist the targeting of immigrants for mass deportation and imprisonment.


Previously, Jon was Director of Brooklyn Justice Initiatives, a project of the Center for Justice Innovation, a national leader in criminal legal system reform. While there, he helped implement numerous sustainable alternatives to detention and incarceration programs aimed at changing the NYC bail system, sentencing, and the treatment of justice-involved individuals.


Throughout his career, Jon has partnered with nonprofit, private, and government entities and individuals to advocate on behalf of people impacted by the criminal legal system. He has broad experience managing organizational growth and change in a sustainable and inclusive way by creating cultures built on equity, inclusion, and growth.


The son of immigrant parents from Colombia, Jon brings lived experience and bicultural perspective to his work.
He received an M.S. in Criminal Justice from New Jersey City University.
