In the New York Daily News, City Councilmember Crystal Hudson calls for more protections against the housing crisis for older New Yorkers.
In the New York Daily News, City Councilmember Crystal Hudson, Chair of the Aging Committee makes a strong case for creating more protections against New York’s housing crisis for older and aging New Yorkers.
Older people “are at the center of the nation’s housing affordability and homelessness crisis,” and in New York City, “one in five older adults live in poverty and experience a severe and ever-increasing rent burden.”
Older New Yorkers face significant challenges to keep their homes and these challenges become even greater when they are formerly incarcerated.
