NYC Preliminary Budget Hearings
On Wednesday, March 23, Osborne Court Advocacy Services Program Coordinator Kristin Hogan, LMSW, and Osborne Center for Justice Across Generations Senior Policy Associate Wendell Walters offered testimony at the New York City Council Preliminary Budget Hearing Committees on Criminal Justice and Aging, respectively.
On Wednesday, March 23, Osborne Court Advocacy Services Program Coordinator Kristin Hogan, LMSW, and Osborne Center for Justice Across Generations Senior Policy Associate Wendell Walters offered testimony at the New York City Council Preliminary Budget Hearing Committees on Criminal Justice and Aging, respectively.
Wendell and Kristin thanked the City Council for funding current Osborne programs and services, which works at the intersection of policy and practice that is grounded in an understanding of people’s capacity to change and the importance of relationships across generations.
They shared their concerns about the ongoing crisis on Rikers and upcoming issues impacting older adults within New York State Jails and Prisons and offered some solutions to these issues in their testimony to the City Council.
