Career Center
Those of us with criminal justice histories seek learning and employment for the same reasons anybody does: to support ourselves and our families, to be an example to our children, to give our lives meaning, and to attach us to our communities. The path to these goals is steep, however, and made far steeper by centuries of racial injustice and violent oppression.
To address this, Osborne offers pathways to learning, jobs, and careers, drawing on partnerships with employers, colleges, and unions, and providing training and coaching to give individuals the best chance of succeeding on the job and making their aspirations real. We offer:
- Job readiness classes focused on the soft skills needed to succeed in the workplace;
- Training in hard skills recognized by industries that are hiring;
- Assistance in completing school and pursuing higher education;
- Job placement and coaching to promote success on the job;
- Transitional employment in Osborne’s Social Ventures; and
- Supportive services to build resilience and stability.
