Project Reset

As an alternative response to many misdemeanor arrests in upper Manhattan, Osborne offers a brief intervention designed to provide immediate benefits and link participants to needed resources. At the point of arrest, police officers may offer individuals the option to participate in Project Reset as an alternative to having to appear in court for arraignment.

We offer screening and enrollment for benefits and a selection of workshops selected for their individual and community value. Participants may choose restorative justice, stress and trauma management, or administering Narcan (opioid overdose prevention), or opt to join a community benefit project. People who complete the program avoid prosecution and have no resulting criminal record.

We also take this opportunity to identify any needs — such as treatment, education, family support, and employment — that can be met by Osborne or our community partners.
