Supported Video Visiting

Nothing can replace an in-person visit, especially for a parent and child. Video visits, however, can be an additional, powerful way to keep families close throughout a loved ones’ incarceration, especially since New York’s prisons are distant from where most families live.

Using video-conferencing technology, Osborne hosts free virtual visits between incarcerated people and their children and families. Osborne’s five community sites feature comfortable rooms stocked with toys, books, and games, where families can connect virtually with incarcerated relatives in 10 prisons across New York State and women on Rikers Island.

For child-parent video visits, we offer clinical oversight before, during, and after each visit, aimed at guiding parents through difficult interactions and easing the stress and confusion children may experience.
