Mathew M. Wambua

Mr. Wambua serves as Vice Chairman and Head of Agency Lending for Merchants Capital, an affordable housing mortgage lending platform that provides Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and FHA debt products, as well as on-book acquisition and new construction bank loans. Prior to joining Merchants, Mr. Wambua served as Commissioner of the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, Executive Vice President of the NYC Housing Development Corporation, Senior Policy Advisor for NYC Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Daniel Doctoroff, Vice President for Special Projects at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and as Senior Investment Officer for General Electric Capital Commercial Real Estate. 

Mr. Wambua has served as a board member for the Metropolitan Museum of New York, Merchants Capital, New York Housing Conference, New York City Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), Samaritan Village, The Procurement Policy Board of NYC, Settlement Housing Fund, Mid Bronx Desperados Development Corporation, NYU’s Furman Institute, Placeful, NYC HDC, NYC Residential Mortgage Insurance Company, the Center for New York City Neighborhoods (CNYCN), Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation, the New York City Housing Partnership, the NYC Empowerment Zone Corporation (proxy for Deputy Mayor Doctoroff), NYC Economic Development Corporation (proxy for DM Doctoroff), and the NYC Industrial Development Corporation (proxy for DM Doctoroff). 

Mr. Wambua earned a BA from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has taught real estate finance at NYU’s Graduate School of Public Service and managerial economics at the New School’s Graduate School of Public Policy.

Rachael Bedard, MD

Rachael Bedard, MD, is an internist, geriatrician, and palliative care physician. Her work as a doctor, teacher, writer, and advocate exists at the intersections of health, the criminal justice system, and human rights. Dr. Bedard’s clinical work is primarily with justice-involved elders, especially people who are recurrently incarcerated in the final decades of life. 

Dr. Bedard is a research fellow at the Institute to End Mass Incarceration and sits on the New York City Board of Correction. She was formerly the Senior Director of the Geriatrics and Complex Care Service at Correctional Health Services—the entity that provides healthcare in the city’s jails—and treated patients at Rikers during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

She studied History at Brown University and completed medical training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and the Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After previous service on the Osborne board, Dr. Bedard rejoined the board in 2022. She grew up in Toronto and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two kids.

Michael Ryan is a senior counsel at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where he focuses on financial and corporate matters. He was a New York Urban Fellow in the administration of John V. Lindsay, and a founding director of the Public Interest Law Foundation at NYU. He is a director of Breaking Ground and GreaterNY.

Zelma Weston Henriques

Dr. Zelma Henriques is Professor Emerita in the Department of Law, Police Science, and Criminal Justice Administration at John Jay College, CUNY, from which she retired in 2019. During her tenure, she taught Comparative Corrections, Rehabilitation of the Offender and Institutional Treatment of the Offender, among other courses. 

She has since remained committed to undergraduate students and their academic and professional pursuits, participating as advisor to student government and mentor to the McNair Scholarship Program. 

After graduating from Morgan State University, she received her doctorate from Columbia University in Applied Human Development & Counseling Psychology and a post-doctoral fellowship for human rights from the Rockefeller Foundation. 

Dr. Henriques currently serves on the editorial board of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. She has traveled extensively to more than 30 countries researching, writing, and engaging in panels on issues of rehabilitation, reentry into society, and human rights. She is the author of the seminal work “Imprisoned Mothers and Their Children,” written more than 40 years ago. 

Through Osborne, she served as mentor and counselor for the Rikers Island STEP program. Dr. Henriques considers Osborne to be one of the premier organizations in the U.S. with the goal of assisting those involved in the criminal justice system.

Ana M. Bermúdez

Ana M. Bermúdez is the former Commissioner of the NYC Department of Probation. She was the first openly gay person, first Latina, and second woman to serve in this role. Appointed in March 2014, she led the Department in its mission to enhance public safety through appropriate individualized and community-based interventions in the lives of people on probation to enable them to permanently exit the justice system. From 2010 to 2014, she successfully led citywide initiatives focused on improving outcomes for court-involved youth as DOP’s Deputy Commissioner of Juvenile Operations. 

For more than 20 years, Ms. Bermúdez has been an advocate for children and teenagers involved in the justice system through the development and implementation of strengths-based interventions, the application of restorative and youth development practices, and the design of programs that ensure successful reintegration for adjudicated juveniles. She began her professional career representing children in family court cases at the Legal Aid Society. She has served as the Director of Juvenile Justice Programs at the Children’s Aid Society, and held progressively responsible positions at CASES (The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services): Director of Training and Technical Assistance; Co-Director of Community Prep High School, a transitional school for court-involved students; and Deputy Director for Court Services and Case Management at CASES’ Court Employment Project, an alternative to incarceration program for adolescents with felony convictions. 
 
Ms. Bermúdez is currently a consultant in the areas of leadership and management, restorative justice and restorative practices, juvenile justice, and system reform, among others. She is a graduate of Brown University and Yale Law School.

Yasmin Hurston Cornelius is Senior Vice President of Community Affairs at L+M Development, where she and her team are responsible for leading the community engagement program in the firm's new construction, acquisition, and preservation deals. As “Chief Resident Officer,” Yasmin and her team work to ensure that there is quality of life accountability for the 20,000+ households in L + M's NYC, New Jersey, and Chicago portfolios. In her role, she builds on her government, political, and housing finance experience to successfully cultivate working relationships with resident associations, nonprofit organizations, business partners, elected officials, and other key stakeholders. 

Yasmin has more than 25 years of experience in the private and public sector. She has worked for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the New York State Senate Majority Conference, and the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, and was District Manager of Community Board 10M. Her current affiliations include Fordham University Real Estate Institute’s Executive Advisory Council, African American Day Parade, Inc., Community Help in Park Slope and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., New York Alumnae Chapter. She has received many awards and accolades for her dedication to social justice and community impact. 

Yasmin currently resides in Harlem with her two sons.

Swift Sedgwick Osborne Edgar is a tax associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz. Mr. Edgar advises clients on the tax aspects of significant business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs and joint ventures. Before joining Wachtell Lipton, he clerked for the Honorable Cynthia M. Rufe of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and for the Honorable Thomas L. Ambro of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. 

Mr. Edgar received an A.B. from Harvard College and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. As a law student, he, together with teams of fellow students under the supervision of a professor, successfully represented a man petitioning for release after having served one third of a 60 year sentence for a crime he did not commit and other clients challenging the conditions of their confinement in New York State. Mr. Edgar is a great-great grandson of Thomas Mott Osborne.

Brian S. Fischer

Brian Fischer is a retired Commissioner of the NYS Department of Corrections & Community Supervision with personal experience developing and supporting treatment programs for incarcerated persons. 

Mr. Fischer has 43 years of criminal justice experience, including holding the position of superintendent of Sing Sing Correctional Facility, before becoming the Commissioner of the state’s prison system. He was instrumental in expanding the number of nonprofit organizations providing special services to incarcerated persons, such as Osborne Association and Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison. 

Mr. Fischer is a board member of the Sing Sing Museum Project, and the Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison. He also serves on the advisory boards of the Greenberger Center for Social and Criminal Justice and Rehabilitation Through the Arts. 

Mr. Fischer has been on Osborne’s board since 2013 and has participated in a number of Osborne contracts concerning the training of New York City correction officers. He has also been an adjunct professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Most recently, Mr. Fischer has worked as an expert witness in defense of incarcerated persons who are suing jail and prison staff related to issues of solitary confinement and inadequate mental health services.

Adam Hellegers is Co-General Counsel and a Partner at L+M Development Partners, a real estate developer, builder, and operator with a dedicated focus on affordable housing and community development. He previously held positions with the New York City Parks Department, the New York City Housing Development Corporation, and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, as well as a captive law firm of The Related Companies. Adam is a member and former chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Housing and Urban Development Committee. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of NYU’s Furman Center (for housing and urban policy research) and the Board of Trustees for Westchester Reform Temple, and served as Osborne's Board Chair. Adam received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law.

Alison Novak

Alison Novak is a real estate executive committed to triple bottom line outcomes. She most recently led the Urban Development team at Sidewalk Labs, including its transition into Google. Prior to that she was a principal at one of New York City's premier residential development firms, The Hudson Companies Inc. Under her leadership, Hudson launched its commitment to green building, its first equity investment funds, and its internal committee for equity, inclusion and diversity. She was a founding owner of Broadway Builders, a women-owned construction affiliate of Hudson. 

She has overseen the development and asset management of over $1 billion in New York City housing, ranging from the very low income to top of the market, home ownership to rental, single-family to high-rise. She has nearly 20 years of real estate experience. 

Alison studied Community Development at Grinnell College and earned a Master of City Planning and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from M.I.T. She is a Vice Chair of Women in Housing and Finance, an honor bestowed on past board presidents. Alison was a member of the 21st cohort of Coro Leadership New York.

Andrew Potash

Andy Potash is the founder of Distinguished LLC, an insurance product development, underwriting, and distribution company that serves the real estate, hotel, restaurant, and sports and recreation industries across the U.S. He is also the co-founder of Resource Pro, a firm with over 6,000 colleagues in China, India, and the U.S. that is focused on helping insurance entities improve their operations and services. 

For more than a decade, Andy and his wife have focused on creating jobs for people who need a second chance in life, specifically those impacted by the criminal justice system, homelessness, or substance use disorders. That interest has expanded to reforming the criminal justice system more broadly as a result of Andy's board service at Osborne Association began over a decade ago. He is a graduate of Cornell University and the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development.

Page Travelstead

Page Travelstead is a Managing Director in the Wells Fargo Community Lending & Investment Group (CLI) and has been at the bank since 2011. Her responsibility as a team lead is to oversee the origination and monitoring of affordable housing construction loans within New York City, New York State, and New England. She has been part of the rapid growth of the Wells CLI-NYC portfolio over the past ten years, closing over $1.2 billion in construction loans and letters of credit, and working closely with the CLI Equity, Multi-Family Capital, and Commercial Real Estate teams.

 


Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2011, Page was a Senior Project Manager in the Housing Development group at Fifth Avenue Committee in Brooklyn, focusing on the Atlantic Terrace project. She also spent five years in the Commercial and Residential Development group at Forest City Ratner Companies, as the Project Manager for the 80 DeKalb project, and working on the residential development team of the Atlantic Yards (Barclays Center) project. Page received an MS in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, and a BA in International Relations from Stanford University. An (almost) lifelong resident of Brooklyn, she was raised in Cobble Hill, and now resides in Crown Heights with her husband, two children, and a dog. She is chair of the Finance Committee for Osborne, serving on the board since 2018.

Katrina vanden Heuvel is editorial director and publisher of The Nation. She served as editor of the magazine from 1995 to 2019. 

She writes a weekly column for The Washington Post and is a frequent commentator on U.S. and international politics for ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and PBS. Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Boston Globe. She is also the author of several books, including The Change I Believe In: Fighting for Progress in The Age of Obama, and co-author (with Stephen F. Cohen) of Voices of Glasnost: Interviews with Gorbachev’s Reformers. 

She has been recognized for her journalism and public service by organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the National Women's Political Caucus, the New York Civil Liberties Union, the Center for Community Change, the Norman Mailer Center, the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill, American Rights at Work, Progressive Congress, and more. During her tenure, The Nation’s journalism has been recognized for excellence by the National Magazine Awards, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Maggie Awards, GLAAD, and the National Association of Black Journalists, among others. 

Katrina serves on the boards of the Progressive Caucus Center, the Institute for Policy Studies, the Sidney Hillman Media Foundation, the American Committee for US-Russian Accord, Inequality Media, Brave New Films, Research to Prevent Blindness, the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, and the Four Freedoms Park Conservancy. Lucretia Mott Osborne Wells is a Senior Consultant with Design Group International, where she works with nonprofits, schools, and family-owned organizations as a Process Consultant. Lucretia has a keen capacity for bringing stakeholders together for positive discourse to preserve a sense of mission and vision as an organization builds its value proposition and capacity to be self-sustaining. Prior to Design Group, Lucretia was the Director of Accreditation for the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS), where she oversaw the accreditation process for 110 independent schools. For 35 years, Lucretia worked in a number of roles in independent schools, culminating in her role as Head of School at a K-8 Quaker School in Bucks County, PA. She has served as a Board member for PAIS and has worked as a consultant to schools and families throughout her career with a focus on governance, senior administrative teams, and faculty, as well as mediating between schools and families. 


Lucretia earned an M.S. from University of Pennsylvania in Organizational Dynamics with an emphasis on organizational consulting and executive coaching. Additionally, she holds an M.S. in Special Education from Portland State University and a B.A. from Boston University. As a native of Auburn, NY, and the great-granddaughter of Thomas Mott Osborne, Lucretia grew up in a family of advocates for those who are underrepresented and has served on the Osborne board alongside her father and brother.

Maggie Wolk

Maggie Wolk is a partner at Bennett Midland, a management and strategy consulting firm that works with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and foundations. She has fifteen years of experience advancing large-scale systems change in city government and nonprofits, with a special emphasis on criminal justice. 

Previously, Maggie spearheaded the launch of a $250 million investment of asset forfeiture funds into innovative community-based programs and justice reform initiatives on behalf of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. These investments provided crucial services to thousands of New Yorkers and created a roadmap for how to successfully reinvest in communities overrepresented in the justice system. In addition, Maggie has supported new policies to end the prosecution of crimes of poverty and developed diversion programs to reduce the number of people coming into contact with the criminal legal system in New York City. She previously managed initiatives at the New York City Department of Correction, Vera, and the Center for Justice Innovation. 

Maggie holds a BA from University of Michigan and an MPA from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service. She joined the board in 2023.

Rev. Dr. Alfonso Wyatt

Rev. Dr. Alfonso Wyatt retired as Vice President of the Fund for the City of New York after serving the organization for over two decades. He is founder of Strategic Destiny: Designing Futures Through Faith and Facts, which seeks to find common language and opportunities for collaboration between socially engaged practitioners motivated by faith and secular practitioners motivated by evidence-based learning. Alfonso is a youth developer, sought-after public speaker, educator, organizational development consultant, executive coach, and public theologian. He brings a relevant message of hope, empowerment, and perseverance to sacred and secular communities locally and around the country. He was a high school teacher and leader of the early alternative school and humanistic education movement in NYC. 

He serves as an advisor and consultant to government, colleges, civic groups, community-based organizations, public and charter schools, education intermediaries, foundations, and the broader faith community. Dr. Wyatt attended Howard University, Columbia Teachers College (course work), The Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy, Columbia Business School Institute for Nonprofit Management, and New York Theological Seminary. Alfonso serves on boards of organizations that promote a progressive social agenda through programs adults and young people, in and out of the criminal justice system. Dr. Wyatt planted seeds for the creation of The Institute for Transformative Mentoring (ITM), located within The New School, and The Credible Messenger Institute located within CUNY Graduate Center. He is a founding board member of The Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy and past Chair of The 21st Century Foundation, now powered By the Tides Foundation. 

He is an ordained Elder on the staff of The Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York.

As a seasoned finance and investment professional, Temilayo brings a unique mix of leadership, strategy, and culturally relevant expertise to all of her endeavors. Prior to HarbourView, Temilayo spent more than 4 years at Goldman Sachs. While there she worked as an Associate in Investment Banking focused specifically on the firm’s corporate board diversity initiative, and in Management & Strategy within the Global Markets division focused on divisional performance, competitor analytics, and business strategy.
 
Temilayo serves as the chairperson for Osborne’s Junior Board and is also on the Acquisitions Committee of the Guggenheim Museum’s, Young Collectors Council. She is a second-year master’s candidate in Arts and Cultural Management at Pratt Institute and received a B.B.A. in International Business from Howard University.

Nicole Kalucki

Nicole Kalucki is a Global Markets Associate at Goldman Sachs within their Prime Brokerage entity where she strategizes with clients on their market making configurations for equity and derivative products. She has worked within the Prime Brokerage group for 6 years while having collected all necessary FINRA registrations as well as successfully collaborating with Broker Dealer clients to maximize return on major global derivative exchanges.
 
Nicole has sat on the Osborne Association’s Junior Board for three years and has remained the active Vice Chairman for the last two years. Additionally, she is an active member of multiple affinity networks at Goldman Sachs to help propel the success of Black and female colleagues within banking. Nicole also sits as a mentor for the Road to Wall Street Program at Rutgers Business School for college students looking to begin a career at major investment banks, such as Goldman Sachs. 
 
Nicole is a graduate of Rutgers Business School graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.Sc. in Finance and a minor in Global Studies and is currently receiving her MSc in Economics from the University of the West Indies, Mona. She currently resides in New Jersey where she is originally from.

Jamie Crooks

Jamie Crooks is an attorney and the founding partner of Fairmark Partners, LLP, a public impact law firm based in Brooklyn and Washington, D.C. At Fairmark, which he founded in 2021 with his college roommate, Jamie litigates cases related to consumer protection, access to affordable healthcare, racial discrimination, rural poverty, and prisons. Fairmark’s work has been covered in the Wall Street Journal, Vice, Axios, and The American Prospect. 
 
Prior to forming Fairmark, Jamie was a Managing Partner of Elk Hills Research, LLC, a research company that investigated corporate wrongdoing related to foreign corruption, environmental crime, and worker mistreatment. Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Elk Hills worked with the United Farm Workers to secure the first-in-the-nation injunction against a meatpacking plant for failing to protect its predominately immigrant workforce. 
 
Jamie began his legal career as a law clerk to two federal judges, including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. He also worked for several years at O’Melveny & Myers, LLP, an international law firm. He has appeared in federal and state courts across the country and has been published in the New York Times and appeared on CNN International as a legal commentator.
 
Jamie has served on Osborne’s Junior Board since 2019. He attended Harvard University (A.B.) and Columbia Law School (J.D.), and he is originally from San Diego, California.

Amanda Geduld holds a BA from Dartmouth University and an M.E.d. from Boston University. She is currently a candidate for a Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University. 
 
Passionate about studying the intersection of public education, mass incarceration, and systemic racism Amanda began her career teaching creative writing at SE State Correctional Facility in Winsdor, VT. For the six years since then, she has worked as a high school English teacher in Boston and The Bronx. She is also an active alumni of the Dalton School and sits on their DEI Committee. Amanda has been a proud member of Osborne’s Junior Board since 2019, most recently serving as the Events Committee Chair.

Afaf Ibraheem Warren is an investment professional at Siris Capital. Prior to joining the Siris team in 2017, she worked at Vance Street Capital and in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division.
 
Ms. Ibraheem Warren is currently on the Board of Directors of Travelport, a Siris portfolio company. She is also a member of the Osborne Junior Board, where she has served since 2019.

Sarah Mullery is a current member of Osborne's Junior Board and has severed as Co-Chair of Osborne’s Volunteer Committee since October 2020. Sarah has always had an interest in the effects of mass incarceration, particularly on children and family systems. As a School Social Worker at Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School, she sees the effects of parental incarceration on a daily basis. Bridging the gap between children and their incarcerated loved ones, as well as supporting kids and families along the way is something Sarah has always been and continues to be extremely passionate about.

Ian Pearson

Ian Pearson is a Brooklyn native and graduate of Wesleyan University. He currently serves as a Vice President with the infrastruture equity investment team at IFM Investors, a global fund manager, where he is responsible for evaluating and executing investment opportunities, and managing portfolio assets.
 
Mr. Pearson brings over 10 years of finance and operational experience across transport, energy, utilities, and heavy industrial industries, amongst others. Prior to joining IFM Investors, he worked in a number of capacities across 5 different countries for General Electric's energy, aviation, and financial services business units. He started his career at Con Edison in New York City.
 
Mr. Pearson has been an Osborne Junior Board member since 2020. He is also an active alum and supporter of Prep for Prep, a non profit organization focused on leadership development for New York City students of color. Outside of work, he will never pass on an opportunity to enjoy a bit of travel, music, and competitive sport.

Justin Burke is Vice President of Communications, leading strategic communications planning and execution in alignment with Osborne Association’s mission and values. Before joining Osborne in 2022, he was Director of Marketing and Communications for Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, a $230 million public charity serving parts of Western Massachusetts, northwestern Connecticut, and eastern New York. His past experience includes senior communications roles at Children’s Aid, the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City, and Family Justice. He began his nonprofit career at APLA Health, one of the nation’s largest AIDS service organizations.

Seán Dalpiaz

Seán Dalpiaz is the Program Director at the Fulton Community Reentry Center. In this role, he manages a busy residential community with 140 beds and coordinates the provision of a comprehensive set of wrap around services for formerly incarcerated men, over 50, returning from long-term incarceration. He joined Osborne in 2022 from Covenant House New York, where he spent four years working to provide shelter and community to unhoused youth as Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities Administration. Prior to that, he spent eight years in the foster care sector at SCO Family of Services, beginning as a maintenance worker and advancing to serve as a Program Director. He has served on the Strategic Adolescent Advisory Board for Rikers Island. Seán holds an Associates degree, a Bachelors in Sociology, and a Masters in Public Administration. He is also a published poet and a PEN America Fellow.

Dana Daniels

Dana Daniels is driven by her passion for criminal justice reform and fervent belief that Big Data should be used for good. In her role, Dana reviews and analyzes program data to find the key metrics that illustrate the quality and scope of Osborne’s programming. She supports all of Osborne’s programs in their data collection and reporting efforts, and provides strategic analysis to senior leadership in pursuit of maximizing program performance and ensuring high-quality outcomes for participants across programs. Prior to joining Osborne in 2017, Dana studied domestic social policy, quantitative political science research, and creative nonfiction at New York University, and worked as a freelance journalist, ballet teacher, and graphic designer.

Andrea Goupalsingh

Andrea Goupalsingh has been working with Osborne Association for over 30 years, currently serving as Vice President of Court Services and Decarceration. Andrea oversees the organization's citywide defense-based advocacy and mitigation work and emerging projects focused on the intersection of the criminal legal system and intimate partner violence, technical parole violation mitigation services, and programming that increases diversion and alternative sentencing options. Before this position, she was the Program Director of Court Advocacy Services since 2009. 
As a Licensed Master Social Worker and graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, Andrea has dedicated her professional life to serving the needs of justice-involved individuals, advancing the field of forensic social work, and transforming the criminal legal system. She began her career in administration but transitioned to court advocacy and mitigation work, becoming a forensic social worker in 2000.
Andrea has collaborated with numerous defense attorneys and their clients, providing advocacy and social work services in New York City Criminal and Supreme Courts. Her successful advocacy has led to positive outcomes for hundreds of adults and youth who have received alternatives to incarceration or reduced sentences. Her expertise includes forensic social work, alternatives to incarceration, court advocacy, mitigation specialist work, staff and social work field work supervision, contract and budget management, and program development, implementation, and operations.

Christina Green

Christina Green is the Director of Supportive Housing. Christina’s career at Osborne began as a Community Health Worker as part of Osborne’s work with DOHMH’s NYC Health Justice Network (HJN). She was quickly promoted to the Community Health Worker Supervisor and then Director of the program. The HJN is an innovative reentry program to support individuals returning to the community from incarceration with health and social services. 

Christina is formerly incarcerated and is an avid speaker and advocate for justice-involved elders, and people who are in substance use recovery and survivors of trauma and trafficking. Christina is a member of several advisory boards including Mt. Sinai, CHW Consortium, and Exodus Transitional Services. Christina attended Hobe College and is a graduate of The Navigator Program for Human Services and Community Justice at John Jay College and is a certified peer support advocate and recovery coach.

Michelle Howard

Michelle Howard is Executive Vice President and Chief Program Officer. In this role, she supports strategic planning, service delivery, and the overall development and management of the agency as part of Osborne’s executive team. She has experience in analytics, program design, systems analysis, operations, and program implementation. In 2017, Michelle was appointed as a fellow of Silliman College at Yale University, where she co-taught a class on prison law and policy. Prior to joining Osborne, she received her Master of Divinity Degree with honors from Duke University and a B.A. with distinction from Yale University.

Tanya Krupat

Tanya Krupat is Osborne’s Vice President of Policy and Advocacy. For more than two decades, Tanya’s work has focused on children whose parents are incarcerated, with an emphasis on visiting as a means to maintain the parent-child relationship and reduce the harm of separation. She oversees a policy, advocacy, and training team that works to safeguard and support children whose parents are arrested and incarcerated, transform correctional and reentry policies that affect older adults and, more broadly, shift policies and practices from punishment towards alternatives grounded in healing and accountability. 


Prior to joining Osborne in 2006, Tanya worked at the NYC Administration for Children’s Services, where she focused on improving family visiting practices for children in foster care, including when their parents are incarcerated. She helped start the country’s only program for children with incarcerated parents located within a child welfare agency. Tanya has also served as the Family Services Coordinator in a medium-security women’s prison in New York. She has a Licensed Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Public Health.

Clavel M. Lazarre

Clavel M. Lazarre is an experienced and innovative operations leader with a distinguished, multi-disciplined career spanning operations management, sales execution, and business management. In his current role as Vice President of Business Development and Social Ventures, he is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and managing existing ones; developing and executing strategic plans; securing partnerships and funding; and ensuring sustainable growth and impactful outcomes. He oversees Janitorial Maintenance Services, a porter service employing formerly incarcerated people that has been in operation for over two decades. 

 
Prior to this, Clavel was Vice President of Operations at Alluel Logistics, a logistics, warehousing, and supply chain management company. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer at Monark Consulting Group, directing the creation of a national implementation and marketing strategy for a multi-phased, $200M banking development project. Other roles include serving as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Fitness Collective Inc., where he grew the business from an initial $5,000 investment into a $1M business with 4,000 clients in the first 24 months.
 
Clavel has devised operational management strategies for organizations with $50M+ in revenue, including Amex Open, Ogilvy, and PFP Insurance. Earlier in his career, he established the operational infrastructure for a United Nations-approved non-governmental organization that created orphanages and elementary schools, feeding and educating over 2,000 children daily. 
 
Clavel holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Small Business Administration from Northern Arizona University and an MBA in General Business Management from West Texas A&M University.

Paul Lieffrig, CPA

Paul Lieffrig is the Chief Financial Officer of Osborne Association. As CFO, he leads our fiscal team in leveraging and maximizing financial resources for current and anticipated programs to ensure a robust, sustainable future for Osborne. Paul has over 25 years of nonprofit management, accounting, finance, administrative, and public accounting experience, and extensive experience with federal, state, and city contracts. Prior to joining Osborne in 2024, he was Chief Financial Officer at Comunilife, a $179M housing services, behavioral health services, and homeless and shelter services organization. A certified public accountant, Paul is treasurer of a local middle school PTA near his home.

Dior Lindsey

Dior Lindsey is Program Manager for FamilyWorks Buffalo, a program that was initiated upon her arrival to Osborne in 2019. In this role, Dior has been responsible for establishing and maintaining Osborne’s services in Buffalo. These services include supported video visiting, relationship-building, supportive services for children of incarcerated parents and providing training and technical assistance for local organizations on the impact of parental arrest and incarceration. Her role includes supporting additional projects such as “Safeguarding Children of Arrested Parents” in collaboration with the Buffalo Police Department and the “COVID-19 Reentry Support” initiative. In 2014, Dior received a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Anthropology at Canisius College. In 2016, she graduated with her M.S.W. from the University at Buffalo’s School of Social Work and received her NY Social Work Licensure shortly after graduation. Dior’s focus has always been on the importance of building healthy relationships and believes that anything is possible with the right support.

Jonathan Monsalve

Jonathan Monsalve became Osborne’s President and CEO in October 2024, after joining Osborne as Chief Strategy Officer the previous June. With over 15 years of experience fighting the injustices of the criminal legal system, Jon most recently served as the Executive Director of the Immigrant Defense Project, a national nonprofit that works to resist the targeting of immigrants for mass deportation and imprisonment. 
Previously, Jon was Director of Brooklyn Justice Initiatives, a project of the Center for Justice Innovation, a national leader in criminal legal system reform. While there, he helped implement numerous sustainable alternatives to detention and incarceration programs aimed at changing the NYC bail system, sentencing, and the treatment of justice-involved individuals. 
Throughout his career, Jon has partnered with nonprofit, private, and government entities and individuals to advocate on behalf of people impacted by the criminal legal system. He has broad experience managing organizational growth and change in a sustainable and inclusive way by creating cultures built on equity, inclusion, and growth.

Tiffany Myrick

Tiffany Myrick is Osborne’s Children Youth and Family Services Director. In this role, Tiffany oversees a portfolio of programs that provide youth development, in-person and video visiting support, transportation, and reentry services for children and families impacted by parental incarceration. Tiffany joined Osborne in 2024 with experience in maternal and child health and positive youth development, and has led programs that empower children and families impacted by trauma. Tiffany holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's degree in Public Administration, both from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Michelle Portlock

Michelle Portlock is the Vice President of Impact and Evaluation and has been on staff since 2007. She supports the organization in defining intended outcomes, developing systems to monitor performance, and using data to enhance impact. She leads both internal performance management initiatives and external evaluations with academic partners and consultants. Michelle has more than 20 years of experience with non-profit management and has worked as a consultant on a variety of strategic planning, evaluation, and program development projects. She received her Master of Public Administration degree from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at NYU. She is a member of the American Evaluation Association and a past board member of the New York Consortium of Evaluators (NYCE). She serves as vice president of the board of Infinite Hope, a volunteer animal rescue group in Brooklyn.

Laura Roan

Laura Roan is Vice President of In-Prison Services based in Osborne’s Newburgh office. She oversees programs across 38 prisons, including FamilyWorks, Hospitality Center Network, Reintegration and Family-Focused Discharge Planning, Corrections Health Initiative, Elder Reentry Initiative, and ReentryWorks. Her teams provide specialized assistance to people who are incarcerated and those who are reentering the community directly from solitary confinement, people living with HIV/AIDS, and older adults affected by incarceration. Laura and her teams also work closely with the Osborne Center for Justice Across Generations to advocate for the release and care of older adults and for families impacted by incarceration. 
Since joining Osborne in 2010, Laura has served in a variety of roles, including helping to create and lead the Elder Reentry Initiative team since its 2015 launch. ERI was the nation’s first program to focus on helping older adults transition from prison and jail back into the community. 
At the start of her career, Laura worked as a forensic biochemist supporting prosecution and incarceration, a reflexive choice after being a survivor of child abuse. However, while working as an investigator at New York City’s Civilian Complaint Review Board, she probed allegations of police misconduct and saw firsthand the inequalities and inhumanities present in our criminal legal system and wanted to help build a better one.

Nelson Torres

Nelson Torres started working at Osborne on March 3, 1993, as a safety officer. Since then, he has grown to lead Osborne’s Janitorial Maintenance Services (JMS) social enterprise, where he is responsible for overseeing 6 supervisors, a field manager, 140 porters, 15 buildings, and more than 1.1 million square feet of cleaning space. All JMS are formally incarcerated and more than 85 percent have some form of disability. 


Before joining Osborne, Nelson graduated from a police academy in Florida and worked in corporate security.

Steuben Vega

Steuben Vega is Osborne’s Director of Workforce Development. Steuben is responsible for managing the operations of Workforce programs at our community sites, prison and jail-based employment services and the development of employment opportunities for Osborne participants. This includes ensuring quality service provision, delivery of strong program performance, overall compliance with City, State and Federal contracts, and cultivation of relationships with employers. Steuben’s start in Workforce began as a Mentor Coordinator for the Training to Work program -- this role introduced him to other leadership roles, including Program Manager for Training to Work and the Prepare (Fatherhood) programs before becoming the Deputy Director of Workforce. Prior to joining the Osborne Association in February 2015, Steuben worked at Praxis Housing Initiatives, Inc., where he provided services for people living with chronic illness. Steuben’s educational background is in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice.

Wendell Walters

As Executive Vice President and Chief Housing Officer, Wendell Walters oversees all of Osborne’s housing efforts and manages the overall development, strategic planning, and service delivery of housing projects and housing-related real estate ventures. He has been at Osborne since 2019, first serving as Senior Policy Associate and then Manager of Policy and Advocacy in the Osborne Center for Justice Across Generations (OCJAG). In that role, he focused on parole reform, decarceration, support for the incarcerated aging community, reentry housing, and Rikers Island. His background includes serving as a legislative assistant with a U.S. Congressman and as an Assistant Commissioner with the City of New York’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Born and raised in New York City, Wendell is a graduate of Iona College, where he played collegiate basketball, and the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.

Dana Wax

As Interim Chief Administrative Officer, Dana Wax ensures the success of Osborne's backbone operations. In this role, she provides strategic management and guidance to the human resources, IT, legal and compliance, facilities, development, and office services teams. Dana is a dedicated public servant and criminal justice professional who has been working to improve the lives of vulnerable New Yorkers for over a decade. Before joining Osborne, she worked as a consultant, supporting legislators and non-profit organizations to develop campaigns to improve transparency and accountability within law enforcement agencies. Dana has held numerous positions in New York City government, including serving as Chief of Staff at the New York City Department of Correction, where she led operational and cultural reform efforts, and as Chief of Staff to then Council Member Vanessa L. Gibson during her tenure as Chair of the Public Safety Committee. Dana is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and attended New York University for both her undergraduate and graduate studies. In her free time, Dana enjoys cooking vegan recipes, spending time outdoors, and caring for her formerly feral cats.

Camille White

Camille White is the Director of Human Resources. She joined Osborne in 2018 and has more than 15 years of human resources experience. Prior to joining Osborne, she supported both for-profit and nonprofit organizations in various HR roles, where she counseled and guided managers and senior leadership in employee relations, performance management, policies and procedures, disciplinary action, and termination practices. Her passion to work with nonprofit social service organizations is driven by their pursuit to create and make sustainable change. Camille holds a master’s degree in human resource management.
