Reducing Violence and Changing Lives Through Community Intervention
Osborne's BOGAP program was profiled by the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
In New York City, the Bronx has consistently had the highest rates of gun possession and gun violence rates among young adults. Osborne’s Bronx Osborne Gun Accountability and Prevention (BOGAP) program, developed in partnership with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, addresses the underlying causes of gun possession among young adults in the Bronx through behavioral change, workforce development, and mentoring from credible messengers.
The Bureau of Justice Assistance, a funder of the program, profiled the program and celebrated its success in a recent “Justice Matters” newsletter.
