New York State's new accreditation standard, Safeguarding Children of Arrested Parents/Guardians, ensures that children are safeguarded when a parent or guardian is under arrest.
Witnessing the arrest of a parent or guardian can be very traumatic for children. Osborne’s Vice President of Policy and Advocacy Tanya Krupat and Albany Chief of Police Brendan Cox co-authored an op-ed for NYN Media about the unique position of law enforcement agencies to prevent and mitigate harm.
