Bail Reform, Diversion, and Alternatives to Incarceration

Mass incarceration requires locking up vast numbers of human beings with no true public safety justification. Dismantling this structure will take a dramatic recalibration and a shift away from cash bail and extreme sentences to community-based solutions that confront racism and poverty and invest in the human capacity to change.

As founding members of the ATI/Reentry Coalition, we support calls to end cash bail and press for the expansion of community-based alternatives to prison or jail.
