Marcus Garvey Supportive Housing

In 2022, Osborne opened its first supportive housing program for people aged 50 and older who are reentering the community from incarceration and who would otherwise be homeless or unstably housed. Marcus Garvey supportive housing program provides 52 units of long-term housing in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn. Osborne supports residents to navigate their reentry with a variety of services onsite. These include entitlement and benefits advocacy, connection to health care and treatment services, workforce development, wellness services, family reunification and relationship coaching, social events, and more.

Developed in partnership with L+M Development Partners, the 52 units are a mix of 12 one-bedroom apartments and 40 studio apartments. Osborne’s units are part of an overall redevelopment of a 174-unit residential building that provides high-quality homes with affordable rents for people and families with a range of low and very low incomes. All 52 units are currently filled.
