LGBTQIA+ Case Management Program

Osborne welcomes and supports people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and TGNBGNC, recognizing their strengths and contributions, as well as the alarming rates at which they experience incarceration – and challenges with housing, unemployment, poverty, discrimination, and violence. The health education and reentry support we have long provided to communities has expanded into a comprehensive case management program to fill a critical need for individualized care.

Our LGBTQIA+ program provides services to LGBTQIA+ people in reentry or at risk of justice involvement particularly in the Bronx but also serving all of New York City. We work with participants to identify and reach goals and connect to resources like healthcare, treatment for mental health and substance use disorders, housing supports, employment services, legal services, video visiting, and more within a supportive community of case managers and peers.

Our staff are attuned to the community’s experience, supporting participants in stabilizing essential elements of their day-to-day lives. In addition, we advocate for our participants and for the LGBTQIA+ community in the wider environment of service providers in New York City, with a particular emphasis on making the criminal legal system more attuned to the needs of LGBTQIA+ people, and provide participants with the tools to advocate for themselves.
