“I’ve taken five OSHA trainings. I have an apartment through Osborne, and I’ve bought three cars – all through this program. The staff, like Mr. Rodgers and Mr. Ben, help me every weekend. If I have a problem, I can call or text them. When I started working with my coworkers, they welcomed me as if they’d known me forever. I feel like the program is like a family. I talk and communicate with everyone. It doesn’t feel like just coworkers. This is an opportunity you don’t get every day.”

The annual Children, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) picnic brought together families for a joyful day in Prospect Park. August 2025 My Osborne Donovan

“So many people feel that because they have endured struggles, there aren’t places that they can go to and seek redemption. I thank Osborne and NeON Works for allowing me to change the narrative that was once placed over me as a person and for giving me the jumpstart to know that there was more beyond the horizon.”

After 24 years in prison, reentering society felt overwhelming, but Osborne gave me the support and guidance I needed to rebuild my life. From securing housing and benefits to learning new skills, Osborne not only helped me find stability but also inspired me to give back and support others on their journey home.

The time and effort staff put in during the program is the most valuable thing about NeON. [Staff memebers] Piero and Aneta mean the world to me. They went out of their way to help me get something that I thought was impossible. They actually care. NeON helped me get my OSHA flagger certificiation, and I ended up interviewing, meeting different people, gaining work experience, and getting a better job. Today, I’m successful and able to take care of my family.
