Women With a Plan

Together, Osborne’s Women With a Plan program and VIP Caregiver Support Group create opportunities for women affected by the criminal legal system to find strength in sisterhood and receive support in navigating their role as caregivers with incarcerated loved ones. While the program primarily serves caregivers—mothers, daughters, wives, girlfriends, and aunts—women with lived experience of incarceration are also welcomed and supported as they navigate the complex transition back into their communities and family life.

Caregivers often face distinct challenges when their loved ones are incarcerated, including disruptions to family connection, emotional strain, and financial hardship. Osborne’s women’s programs respond to these needs with compassion, connection and care.

Women with a Plan provides one-on-one case management, personalized goal setting, and guidance on educational and employment opportunities from a Family Services Specialist. Participants receive a self-care starter kit and referrals to services like housing, healthcare, and mental health support

At any time, those who wish to can join the VIP Caregiver Support Group, which focuses on wellness and empowerment during monthly meetings. VIP offers a safe, welcoming space for women to share resources, reflect on their experiences, and support one another through creative and healing activities like yoga, drumming, and jewelry-making. Groups help mothers reconnect with their children and nurture themselves in the process and recreational outings provide additional opportunities for family bonding.
